Quick, Easy Ideas for Decorating Your Summer Front Porch

May 19, 2018

Company is coming! Sound the alarms and get going on making your front porch beautiful!

That’s is what I woke up thinking this Saturday morning. Having guests coming to stay is THE best motivator to get your home ready for the season.

When planning, it doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive to set up a pretty front entry! I used everything here I already own.

Let’s start with the largest fixed piece- the front door. Are you searching for that perfect color for your front door?:

There are so many great ideas and inspiration on Pinterest to find your favorite front door color. Thousands of photos. You can start here on my knock-knock Pinterest board:

If repainting the door is not in the cards this year, how about a beautiful, colorful wreath on the door?:

After you decide if the door will be painted this year, or not, the next piece to consider is seating. Do you have enough room for a bench or a great chair and pillow?

Or rocking chairs rock! I love sitting on the front porch and rocking back and forth, back and forth. So relaxing!

Something with personality that makes you smile. I like to use my Mexican blanket and throws I purchased on vacation to bring some color in:

Plants! Of course bring in a few pots of colorful flowers to welcome the Summer :

If you have a very large porch to decorate, be sure to pull everything together, (chairs, table, plants) to form a seating area. Just like in your living room, bring in an outdoor colorful rug to tie it all together:

If you have a very small front porch, you can bring in color with a chair and throw, a few potted plants and some rug magic:

  1. I love those rocking chairs. I’ve been keeping an eye out for them for a long time but no luck yet. Love the blue entrance doors.
