Emphasis On Wood
A ‘trend’ I have been seeing everywhere is Wood. This is not a new trend of course, but at this year’s High Point Market that I attended here, Organix, (made from organic materials), was very much in evidence with many of the vendors:Since attending the market, I have seen products made from wood not only in lighting and carpeting, but emphasis on using wood and Nature in our interiors is also being seen in accessories, furniture and art:
Isn’t that such a great piece above? So unique and original. It looks like part of a sliding door but I think on it’s own it would still be a beautiful focal point.
I am really loving the Live edge or natural edge which is a style of furniture where the carpenter incorporates the natural edge of the wood into the design of the piece:
Gorgeous! After visiting a local sawmill this past Fall, I have so much admiration for these beautiful, natural pieces of wood.
It really hit me how popular this trend is becoming when I saw these accessories in Target yesterday:Have you brought any earthy textures or organic forms into your homes? Wood is interesting, natural, touchable and dramatic! Do not worry about mixing styles or materials either. Wood works with glass, metal, other woods, etc. It will distinctly bring character, shape, warmth and texture into your home. Don’t you agree it brings in personality?
