If you could start from scratch with your interior, what style would you be? Since I am fortunate enough to be moving into a new home that has all white trim and clean interior lines which I love, I really love the way the dark woods of older traditional furniture are used in the bright and airy interiors of the modern farmhouse styles:

Remember last week when I wrote about laminate counters here? I received a lovely email from a reader and she said that I could share with you:Hi Kelly,We built a new home last year and the highest we could upgrade for our budget on counters was granite, which I am not a fan of. I had been reading about the new laminate choices and picked one that looks like marble. While we expected it to have the look, what we did not expect was people who were sitting at the counter and touching it still thinking it was marble! One thing we did for was add beveled edges and I think that helped.
