If you could start from scratch with your interior, what style would you be? Since I am fortunate enough to be moving into a new home that has all white trim and clean interior lines which I love,  I really love the way the dark woods of older traditional furniture are used in the bright and airy interiors of the modern farmhouse styles:

I like the clean, modern look but layering in a statement furniture piece brings in a beautiful accent to the white trim and furnishings of the modern look:

It’s stylized approach to comfort and beautiful, simple design, evokes a spirit that's warm and inviting, and the contrast brings a unexpected modern mix:

I am fortunate to have acquired a few cool antique furniture pieces over the years I hope to use in our new home:Yes, the above dresser definitely needs to be lovingly restored.Using wooden stools in the bath is a favorite of mine.Blending the old traditional with the new for a lived in layered look! This clean, simple look will be around for awhile, don’t you agree? What style interior do you love right now?I also wanted to share with you, that I was featured in Apartment Therapy, (a lifestyle blog and publishing company focused on home design and décor) this week.  They asked for a few of my favorite and least favorite paint colors I would use in a bathroom.  You can read the article here. And one more thing to tell you about! Remember last week when I wrote about laminate counters here? I received a lovely email from a reader and she said that I could share with you:Hi Kelly,We built a new home last year and the highest we could upgrade for our budget on counters was granite, which I am not a fan of. I had been reading about the new laminate choices and picked one that looks like marble. While we expected it to have the look, what we did not expect was people who were sitting at the counter and touching it still thinking it was marble! One thing we did for was add beveled edges and I think that helped. We still have to upgrade the builder sink and faucet, but here is a picture.Maybe this will help your readers.Congratulations on your new home.Best,ToniSo beautiful! What a great job decorating Toni. You would never know that your counter tops were laminate and not marble. See that readers? Beautiful lighting also. Thank you so much Toni for letting me share!Have a great weekend everyone!Kelly  xo
