Community Center Project
Hey everyone! Hope you are enjoying this long welcome-to-summer weekend. I just finished a design project at my local, newly built, local community center:I was asked by the Mt. Washington Chamber of Commerce if I could decorate one of the community rooms in North Conway, NH. I love this town and area and was very happy and excited to be asked. Here is a before of the room:And after:When I first went in to see the room, it was a large, empty white room. The room is called a multi-purpose room because it will be used for meetings, conferences and everyday activities such as bingo and even karate!:I knew I could not put anything on the floor because of moving chairs, tables and mats. The best and only place really, to bring in color and softness, was the windows. Big windows! I knew it would be super expensive to put in blinds on these large windows. Even curtain panels all the way across would be expensive. Since privacy was not an issue, I suggested just hanging rods on each side of the window to ‘dress’ the windows up:Lowe’s in Conway, NH was kind enough to donate the window hardware. And a big thanks to my husband Mike for hanging the curtains for me. Great job Mike! :)I provided a few accessories I owned and I found a few great large art pieces at Home Goods: Everyone is very happy how it turned out. My good deed for the day!Have a great weekend everyone!
