Design Challenge-WINNER!
Update: I won the contest first place! Thanks to all who voted!
Good Morning, Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all well. I have entered myself into a contest! The challenge is to design a concept board or a render for a professional, female executive, work-at-home mom. The board must also be shoppable, which means the items used in the room can be purchased.
Here is my entry I submitted:
What is a concept board? It is an arrangement of images, materials, textures and colors that represent the style of a project. A lot of people have trouble visualizing what their space will look like at the end of their project. A concept board lays out item selections and ideas together to help envision what the room will look like when completed.
I started designing this concept board with the wallpaper. I always love to add one bold element in the room and this paper fits that idea perfectly! Feminine but strong:
Instead of a mirrored desk, which is very pretty and would look great, I thought for a young mom it might be to hard to keep clean. Plus, I love the navy desk working with the pink! The green desk chair has great style and high reviews online. I love the color in the room and it adds warmth. The navy chairs are for any guests or visitors. I feel the wallpaper was enough of a bold mix in the room so I kept the area rug simple. I also added a sheepskin rug for the kids to lay on and a place to wiggle her weary toes!
I wanted to keep items on the lighter/less heavy side so the room will not feel cluttered. I think this etagere was a nice addition to hold books and a few accessories. A few simple items chosen for décor and of course a tree and flowers that I like to include in every concept board vision!
