2021 Trends Checkup

Since we are almost midway through 2021,(wow!) I thought I would revisit some of the design predictions made and if it looks like it will continue strong for 2021.

Wicker & Rattan:

Very popular this year! Wicker and rattan was seen everywhere at High Point Market this year, which is the Fall and Winter 2021 style spotter of new design headed our way.

I love this pendant light above! A great statement piece. Just don’t overdue it by adding to much wicker in a room or it could look ‘beachy’.

Blue

Blue represents a strong trend for 2021. Color of the Year 2020, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is a dependable blue that can take you in many different directions, expressing tradition and elegance, as well as unexpected boldness. And navy will continue to be a strong color for 2021. Yay!

I am glad to see wallpapering is still growing in popularity. Especially since I just finished my guest room with it! And do you know what pattern is REALLY starting to trend?:

Grandmillennial

Not going to lie- it is not a style I would decorate in my home, BUT I REALLY like these rooms! Unique, different and interesting! People are calling this look ‘Grandmillennial’ which is described as, “Ranging in age from mid-20s to late-30s, grandmillennials have an affinity for design trends considered by mainstream culture to be ‘stuffy’ or ‘outdated’—Laura Ashley prints, ruffles, embroidered linens. ‘Taking fringe, trim, chinoiserie, drapery, skirts on furniture, slipcovers, wallpaper—all of that–and updating them to be a design style for today’s 30-year-old.” Becky Boyle. Also known as Granny Chic!

Green is definitely having a moment right now. From hunter to olive, green is gaining popularity in every room in the house—but we can't get enough of it in the kitchen. A color that embodies renewal, rejuvenation, and energy, green is more than a passing trend.

I hope you enjoyed! Have a great week everyone.
