Summer Project List

I read an inspiring post the other day at Serenity Now ‘Summer DIY and Craft List 2012’ and thought it was a great idea to actually write a list of projects I am working on (or want to work on) for this summer of 2012.My project that I am most excited about is my new home office redo. I am painting the room next weekend with California Paints in the color Appleton. Remember how excited I was about the painting the room in pink here? Well, here is a sample of the pink I painted:DSCN0638_thumb2I am so glad I tested it first! It just did not work out. The Art Deco pink was so pretty, but for my walls the color was too bright. I am working with the California Paint Company’s Timeless Trends 2012/2013, (read more here) and I want to find the perfect color for my office!  Another color I love in this collection is Appleton HC. The color is a bluish green (love) which plays so well with others:image_thumb6DSCN0768I thought it looked great and I can’t wait to paint because that is when the real fun starts – decorating and accessorizing! Then after painting the walls, I have this old table for the office:DSCN0786I decided to take it to the cabinet makers and he is going power spray it for me in a high gloss white paint. I love doing crafts and I need a table I do not have to worry about ruining. Bookshelves are going in on both sides on the window with a window seat for me:IMG_9161Maybe like this:

Another project is something I found on the side of the road! Doesn’t it look like it has tons of possibilities? I thought it was so cool (as I ran for the car hoping no neighbors would see me!)!:DSCN0771I really like the detail. I am looking for a fabric for the seat and then I want paint it in an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint color. Maybe this fabric?:DSCN0791Whew! I am wearing myself down just talking about all these projects! :) One more I will share is my dining room table chairs. I love my table:DSCN0794But look at my old, ugly chairs. I am not even going to bother redoing! They have served their duty for 15 years now:DSCN0795I have three, (I need one more) wooden chairs from my mother-in-law that I want to paint and use with my table. I was thinking I had to paint them in a soft white to go with the table legs, but I think I will be able to paint them a green or blue and they will work great! Like these beautiful sets:Pinned Image

That is enough for now! I really like doing projects but I also look forward to just working outside enjoying the outdoors. Do you have any projects you hope to complete over the summer?
