Lynn’s Window Decision and Decorating the Condo

If you are following along with my SIL Lynn’s family room makeover, the curtains are hung and they look wonderful:To be hemmed of course. We had a few choices of panels narrowed down. You can see all of her options we looked at here. This is the window treatment fabric she choose:

They work very well with both the wall color and the blue sofa she just purchased! A big step completed. Her next project was to find an area rug to complete the space. She asked me what she should look for and I told her something similar to the curtain panels would be best to tie the room together:This rug is very pretty:

But I think with the dark sofa, I would like to see a little more white than blue in the rug:

All of the rugs above will work well with her window treatments and new furniture and Shaker Beige walls. Another strong suggestion I gave her was to be sure to measure once then measure again before she ordered her rug. I can not stress how important is is to not buy an area rug too small! I told her it will look silly which it will. I will share her choice when Lynn decides which she loves best. Plus a few accessory ideas I gave her.

This past weekend I decided to decorate the condo where I live part time. It is a small place so I just made a few festive scenes:My snowmen collection:I bought this little ornament set  when I was only about 20 yrs. old:I found this flat tree for $2.95 last year at an end of season sale:Now it is my front door wreath:Have you been decorating for the Holiday’s?
