Idea To Stop Those Rugs From Slipping
[pinterest]I really love this rug I picked up at Pier One. But I could never use it because it is so slippery!:I slip and slide all over the place every time I use it. First, I tried cutting a rug mat for underneath. But is it just me, that I can never lay it back down flat or with nothing peeking out within eight tries? So aggravating! Then I was going to try out this tape:But do you know how sticky that tape is? So sticky, I thought my wood floor was pulling off when I tried to lift it up.I had read about the idea of using silicone (or acrylic, depending which blog you are reading) caulk. You are supposed to turn the rug over and make a few rows of the caulk on the back, let dry and hopefully that will keep your rug in place. But if you read the comments on these blogs, people had a few problems with it. Such as changing the color of the wood stain and also feeling the bumps of caulk underneath. Hmmmmm..Since I had already bought the tape, I figured what if I put the sticky tape around the edge of the back of the rug, pulled off the tape and attached the rug mat right to it?:Pretty smart idea! Being all one piece makes it so much easier. How to you keep those rugs from sliding all around? Do you think this is an idea worth trying?I shared this idea over at Serenity Blog here! A lot of great ideas at her weekly party you need to check out!I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
