How Much Would You Pay for the Perfect Accessory?
If you found the perfect accessory for your home, could not find anything better because it was so perfect for what you needed, would you pay anything for it? I thought I was in the ‘Absolutely’ group until I found an item I really want to buy is above my ‘reasonable’ price range and I can not justify the purchase. This is my story: I found THE perfect window treatments for the windows in my spare room project here.I keep looking at them:
Aren’t they so beautiful? So me. They are perfect. Perfect color, perfect print, perfect everything. The problem is that they are $793.00 per panel! Yes, you read that right. That is only for one. Is that unbelievable? No wonder I do not shop Perigold often, only when I have a high end client where money isn’t an issue. That client is not me unfortunately. I love them but I have to be reasonable. (But I want them!) So now that I found exactly what I want, I thought I would look around online to find similar, ( but not as expensive!):I looked on Etsy and found these which are nice and colorful:
The price for a pair of these are £318.82, which I had to look up in American dollars and the total would be $415.06 in today’s exchange rate. That is for a pair. They are a good width at 50”. Since I am using them only as decoration, there are blinds already installed, 50” is a good width to lightly bunch and hang on each side of the window for color and softness.I found these window treatments at Overstock:
I was considering this set, but they remind me of Spring too much. And I don’t like the peach in them at all. The price for two pairs, to hang two panels per side for fullness, is a total of $78.20. It figures the ones I like least are the least expensive.I do love these from Birch Lane:You know I love navy blue and navy would work well in the room. This weekend they are only $58.00 for the pair with free shipping. Excellent price with great reviews. Decisions, decisions…..If you were not aware, a lot of accessories and home décor at most stores are having big sales for the Columbus Day weekend!I looked at Pottery Barn for my windows- Good place to search if looking for solids- not patterns.Wayfair has a large selection as does Joss and Main, but did not find anything I was looking for.Pier One had nothing of interest.Macy’s has a lot of different choices, but none that came near the original I was looking for.Bed, Bath & Beyond also has a large selection, but nothing near my original Perigold look.Do you drive yourself crazy like this when shopping online for yourself? I usually start searching at the bottom price items and work my way up to the most expensive. Oh, why did I have to see those first window panels from Perigold? haha Unfortunately, they have to be taken off the list. The Overstock pair is also off the list, just not crazy about them. I did order a sample of the Etsy curtains and I will see if they work well with the carpet. I will keep you updated. Are you looking for new window treatments? I try to use panels in a room if possible for color and to soften the hardness of the walls and window. I hope I have given you a few online places to search. Remember this weekend is a good time to buy because of all the sales going on.Have a great weekend everyone!Kelly xo
