Color Crush: Benjamin Moore Horizon

I have been stressing out all week trying to decide on paint colors for our new home. Painter is on his way and I have not selected a single color! Sound familiar? It is always more difficult to select colors when it is your own place! First up to be painted is a guest room:guest room2We decided to keep the carpet for the time being.  I thought about buying new bed linens but the flooring is so bossy it really limited my options. I actually found a lovely white comforter I have and can use. So where else to start looking for color inspiration? Art is another good place to start and I have so much artwork from the other house, why not try to use what I already have? I love this piece and it works really well with the carpet:new art2At first I thought I would bring in navy for window treatments, lamps, etc., but doesn’t the turquoise also look great?:art and turquioseSo, I knew I wanted a soft neutral color for a fresh, bright and clean look. To work with the bedding, art and white trim, the best choice is a clean white neutral. A cream or beige would not work well with the white bedding or artwork.artwork2A paint color I love and have been wanting to use is Benjamin Moore Horizon OC-53:horizon chip

Horizon is a beautiful soft, very pale blue gray that depending on your lighting and room exposure, can range from a pale blue to pale gray:horizon bed

And that is how I choose my guest bedroom color. One room down! Really excited with my first choice. I hope I am as thrilled with the rest of my color selections. I have to decide this week on master bedroom and downstairs living room. I will keep you updated. Do you have any rooms you are working on finding a paint color? Hard when it is your own, isn’t it?Have a great weekend everyone!Kelly
