A Beautiful Exterior Transformation With Before & After Photos
It has been a busy season for me with exterior paint color consultations and I really enjoy helping with color questions. I especially love when the client sends me AFTER photos! Like my new friend Bethany who wrote asking if I would help her select paint colors for her home’s exterior:Beth first wrote that she found me on Pinterest. She was ready to paint over the brick and needed a little color help. I told her that it is always harder to choose color for your own home! Isn’t that so true? She was actually getting her home ready to sell and wanted to brighten it up a bit. Here is the before:She tried a couple color suggestions I knew would work well and decided Revere Pewter was the winner. When it came time to select trim colors, she wrote, “I’m actually interested in going a little darker for trim. I’m hoping to find something that matches my roof well (a darker gray maybe). Would you mind taking a look at my roof again and seeing if you can “pull” a slightly darker than revere pewter gray color?” “Perfect,” I said to her. I had just wrote about using darker trim here. I thought it was a great idea:I suggested SW 7048 Urbane Bronze for the trim which is a beautiful color. They decided to use a flat paint finish for the walls and trim. A flat paint finish is more popular, interior and exterior and I like the flat. It will show up a slight bit darker without the sheen on it but not too much.Another before:And After:They decided to also paint the garage doors in Revere Pewter in a flat finish. The front door was painted with Urbane Bronze in a semi gloss finish. Before:I think they did a wonderful job! It definitely looks brighter and happier.I know they have a great chance of selling their home for more with the paint transformation. Thank you so much for sharing Bethany!!Have a wonderful Summer weekend everyone!Kelly
