Home Project Updates

Hey Everyone, Happy Sunday! I am so glad it is warming up outside. I cannot wait for Springtime. How about you?

I wanted to share a couple projects Mike & I have finished up here at the house. I LOVE my new wallpaper:

So happy with it! Love when ideas go right. Makes me smile every time I see it. Something I have always loved seeing in magazines and online- I am lucky my husband has good taste too! :)

My dresser for the guest room is finished- it is beautiful!

The drawers are my  favorite:

I am so happy with it! Just gorgeous and unique. This was an old dresser my mother-in-law passed down:

I think she would be really pleased how it came out! The little shop I went to Lauren Originals was the best decision I made. She is so talented! Here are just a couple photos of her work:

You can see many more of her photos here. What I love is her creative mind. She told me that she is now doing projects from all over the country. I love to see people being able to make a living from something that they love to do. I already have her lined up for my next project -turning my old library card catalogs into nightstands :

Lauren was the one that suggested using wire legs like this idea:

Yay! Love them, very cool!

Also this past week, I received an email from Redfin, the online realtors, “I’m excited to let you know that Kelly Bernier Designs has been chosen to be featured in Redfin's next article "Expert Tips: Choosing Exterior Paint Colors to Make Your Home Stand Out." This was my tip:

Work From the Top Down, Starting With Your Roof

Always start with the roof color. When choosing the best exterior paint color, try to make sure your roof is mostly solid colored and not blotchy, especially if you have stone on the exterior because it could make the exterior look too busy. Here are some paint color recommendations based on your roof’s color:

·          If you have a brown roof color, stick with cream color and off-whites, not bright whites, or fresh colors. Brown roofs also work great with earthy colors.

·          Black and charcoal (pewter gray) roofs work best with whites and fresh color palettes.

·         For brick homes, try a black or charcoal roof color.

·          If you have stone on your home’s exterior, the best paint colors that work are green grays, such as Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter or Benjamin Moore Pashmina.

It is now live on the Redfin website and you can read the entire post here: Expert Advice for Picking the Best Exterior Paint Colors for Your Home.

Here is a new living room concept board I finished this week. The owners love the Studio McGee style so I incorporated items with that look:

It is for a young couple that are building a new home in NH. I am furnishing the whole interior! Fun, fun! They live right around the corner from where I used to live in NH. Small world.

Another highlight this week was my birthday:

 Yes, it was delicious!

Have a great week everyone!
