I recently enjoyed putting together an online living room design plan for a traditional home that I thought I would share with you. The client sent me a photo of a living room photo that she loved and wanted to use it as her inspiration starting point(which is a great way to start):

The only furniture that would be staying in the room was her newly purchased cocktail and end tables and also her sofa:

A new paint color was chosen:

 Benjamin Moore Muslin 1037

And here is our traditional living room design board:

Of course I always include the source list of products we select, which can easily be bought online. Items can be purchased all at once or a few at a time, budget and time allowing.

The client was very happy with the results and even told me she thought it looked ‘fantastic!’ Love that! What do you think?

    • That is a good suggestion Mary. We looked at prints and stripes, but the pattern on the sofa and rug was too overwhelming to bring in another pattern for pillows or window treatments. Great idea!

  1. Kelly, this client seems pretty traditional (judging by the picture she chose) and I think your choices were great for her! You do a very good job reading the client and their needs..
For me, I’d like a little more zing as well with another color brought in but its not about what we like but what will make them comfortable and happy in their own home..

    • Exactly Luci. It might not be you or my style living room, but it is exactly what the client wanted and that is what matters. The inspiration photo helped out a lot.
