Coventry Gray With Stained Trim

December 2, 2013

I did a story a few weeks ago about one of my new favorite colors, Benjamin Moore’s Coventry Gray here.  To add to the story, yesterday I received a few photos from a homeowner who I helped select colors for her foyer:

There is a lot of beautiful, handcrafted trim and doors in the room that we wanted to work with. I usually suggest a medium to darker color to work with stained trim but since it is the entry, and we are going to be using darker colors in the rooms off of it, I thought a lighter to medium color would be worth taking a look at.

One of my color suggestions was to try Coventry Gray. We narrowed the paint colors down to a few selections that she sampled:

And the Coventry Gray won:

I think it looks beautiful, updated and fresh. And now we have more color options for the rooms off of the foyer.

We are now looking at Evening Dove 2128-30 or Hale Navy HC-154 for the kitchen to work with her oak cabinets. Beautiful! I will keep you updated.
