Reminder Tip When Using Ready Made Curtains

I sometime wish I could afford to have all of my window treatments in the house be custom made. Wouldn't that be nice to have someone to come into your home , give you great ideas on what would be the best look for your windows, measure and then come back and install these gorgeous, perfect window treatments? Who wouldn’t? Yes, there are custom window treatment specialist to hire, but the price is usually so high.  Right? I have had custom treatments done in my home but not often because of the cost.So if you are like me, I buy ready made curtains. One tip I wanted to remind you of is when purchasing a pair of panels, always buy TWO sets, (two panels for each side of window). Yes it is more expensive, but the look is so much more pleasing, almost as if they were custom made. Here is an example I am working on now. I did not follow my own advice and only purchased one set of two for my office window. Thought I could get away with only one panel on each side:office winThey look ok,  but not really special. Kind of chintzy is what I thought:office windThey just bothered me because I knew I could easily fix the problem. So I bought another set of two panels and tried them out:office window projectMuch nicer and fuller.office2office window2So much better, don’t you think? I might like to get a longer rod, or extension piece in the middle of the rod:office window close upSo I can extend the curtains more out toward the wall:office right new office windowsIt is all in the details! Remember this trick next time you dress your windows with panels. I will keep you up to date as I work on my new office. A new room to decorate!Have a great weekend everyone!Kelly
