Online Coral & Aqua Bedroom Design

October 8, 2014

[pinterest]I recently completed an online design plan for Carol on a new bedroom design that she said I could share. She is recently divorced and was looking for a beautiful and feminine bedroom to come home to.

I found a coral fabric that we used as a starting point for the room:

So pretty! Carol wanted white bedding, so she is going to use this fabric as a duvet folded at the bottom of bed and possibly even window panels.

She already has a bedroom set that we incorporated in our plan:

I gave her a couple different wall colors to think about and she decided to go with Benjamin Moore Simply White:

Fabric for pillows on bed and on new white chair:

A beautiful new mirror for over the dresser:

And here is Carol’s new bedroom design board:

We love it! Coral and aqua is such a pretty color combination. I also suggested finding an old dresser that she could paint in a soft aqua color. Carol promised to send after photos which I will be sure to share with you!

  1. Kelly, this is lovely. Although I’m not really a fan of blue, I do like aqua and I just recently almost finished my guest bedroom in aqua and orange/coral. Have had an antique blue secretary for years (fit well during my aqua/coral Native American phase back in the 1990s in Arizona and then back in Texas but not when I moved back to Arizona. Originally thought I might paint it (not!) and then found an inspiration pic, looked around at what else I had and went to work. Now I have a room I love. Haven’t painted yet but used the room as my exercise for Maria Killam’s summer school webinar and learned a lot and had great fun. The curtain panels I’m using until I paint the wall are so similar in colors to your fabric swatch above though a more geometric pattern. Your client should wake up happy every day. I’ll be eager to see her after pics. Love that chair. I’m still using the $18 resin Adirondack chair in taupe that I picked up at Home Depot – do love the colorful highback chair cushion I found to use with it for comfort. It’s just a placeholder but it works for as long as I need it. Thanks for the reinforcement of a good idea. This is charming.
