My Unfinished Weekend Project

June 9, 2013

I planned to write a fabulous blog over the weekend to share with you about my bedroom mirror makeover with Chalk Paint®:

Well, that is not going to happen because I ran out of paint:

My fault for not planning well! I was going to try a new technique (for me) using a darker Chalk Paint® (ASCP) color as a wash over a lighter color:

             Provence                                                   Aubusson Blue

Stayed tuned.

Another project I am working on involves taking a chair to my seamstress to change the fabric of an old chair I love:

I love the details of this chair. I also thought about painting the frame. But as I looked the the existing fabric of the chair, I realized I could not find a better match to work with the new rug:

And this fabric also works well with the fireplace stone and my Amy Butler wallpaper behind the shelves:

So in review of this chair project, I declare it finished! I am going to leave as is!

At least one project is finished. So how did your weekend projects go? I did try working outside gardening, but the black flies chased me inside!

    • I could paint the chair Kristie, but I decided since there is a lot of natural wood in the room, I thought it would tie in better. Thanks!

  1. My entire Friday was outside yard/flower garden work. Loved every minute of it especially because it was finally a sunny, not rainy, day 🙂

I also completed my spring/summer throw pillow project..that was my rainy day Saturday project 🙂

I like your chair “as is” too 🙂
