Decorating a Console Table for Fall

September 7, 2019

Do you have any of those tables you walk by everyday but hardly notice? I do. This is what my console table has looked like since June:

Kind of sad to admit but I just let it go for the summer.  I am glad I felt like making something pretty yesterday and put in the effort.  It looks so much better! I actually made it up two ways to see which I liked best. One with colorful faux branches:console fall

And then I tried using the last of the summer flowers in the yard:

I love making little vignettes using items that mean something to me:

These little shoes used to be my mother-in-laws. They are little ashtrays! I love my Chinese Lanterns:

I think now for the early Fall I will use the live flowers for as long as they last. Fun to play decorating!

Have you started any Autumn decorating yet?

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Your flowers are gorgeous and make me miss having a yard (but not for long – leaves will fall in another month or so).
I spied the Chinese lanterns straight away. I used to grow those too, even when I was a grade school gardener. Thank you for the Sunday morning pick-me-up!

  2. I got the Fall bug early this year, and like you Kelly, I have decorated my mantel in the colors of Fall. I love this time of year:)
I lost a dear friend and Artist recently but her art work is still available for sale, and I happened to be in the vicinity of the Art shop that carries her work yesterday. I looked through many pen and ink works but the one that grabbed me the most was a gorgeous Fall colored Maple Tree. I have a special place for it on my mantel.
Thank you for your lovely post, it brought a smile:)
