Top Home Trends I’m Loving for Spring 2019 (and a few I’m not!)

February 2, 2019

Everyone has their own opinion of what is hot and what is not in home decorating.  Some designers say one thing, (for example, accent walls are in) and another will say the trend is on it’s way out. So I have gathered together a list of popular trends for 2019 I have seen around the decorating world and are loving. You be the judge.

Floral patterns are taking root and showing up in stores on bedding, pillows, chairs, and wallpaper:

Pantone’s 2018 Purple

December 9, 2017

I am sure you have already heard this week on social media that Pantone has announced it’s color of the year for 2018:

2018-Ultra-Violet

Ultra Violet 18-3838. Pantone chose this complex color to reflect a “complex” time. According to Pantone, Ultra Violet is a “provocative yet thoughtful” color. Historically, it’s been associated with nonconformity and spirituality. Pantone also believes this color symbolizes new possibilities and a hopeful future.

I am sure you have also read mixed reviews. People either are liking this color or giving it a definite thumbs down.

Caliente AF-290 is Benjamin Moore’s 2018 color of the year!

October 10, 2017

Caliente AF-290, a vibrant, charismatic shade of red has been chosen for the Color Of The Year 2018:

caliente red

Strong, radiant and full of energy, Caliente AF-290 is total confidence. It is pleasing, passionate and
makes people feel special, like ‘red carpet treatment’,” said Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore Director of
Strategic Design Intelligence. “Whether used as one note or on four walls, the spirited personality of red
turns heads signaling surprise and adventure. The eye can’t help but follow its bold strokes.”

I have specified this color in the past as an accent wall in a large dining room. The client loved it! I am not sure if I would like a whole room painted in this color, but it looks great as a front door color:

I actually do like all the walls painted in this vibrant red in the bath:
