Interior Before & After Paint Update and Tulip Heaven

May 6, 2017

Over the years, I have worked with a southern client on updating his home with new paint colors. It still amazes me how a coat of paint can totally transform a room! Here are a few sneak peek before and after photos of his newly painted home. There are a lot of photos in this post so grab a cup of coffee and relax and enjoy:

How to Set the Perfect Thanksgiving Table

November 2, 2015

PerfectTable

Do you wish that you could set a pretty dining table, especially for the holidays? Well, you can! Like any other project, planning ahead is the key.

First empty the table for a clean, creative slate:

Next, decide if you want to use a tablecloth or placement. This is important because this is a great way to bring in color. For example these placemats will work in every Season:

Now, go through your place settings. Can you mix and match your pieces for an interesting look? I brought in crystal glass and china below:

Important step! Cloth napkins are the pretty accessory piece of the table! Napkins will make the table look dressed up and special using colorful napkins such as these:

Finally, I like to keep my centerpiece small so there is plenty of room for the food!:

I told you that you could do it, too! You just have to plan ahead.

I would love if you would email me your Thanksgiving table photos to see! They would be great to share in next month’s newsletter.

There Is No Time To Waste!

October 10, 2015

The Holiday’s are coming! Now is the time to get those home decorating projects out of the way if you are thinking of doing any improvements before the coming Holiday Season. We only have a short window of time before the company is coming to visit, the Christmas shopping fever is upon us and all of the decorating has to be completed!

I wanted to suggest a couple quick ideas, depending on how involved you would like to get. A paint project is possible and is the quickest and largest impact for the time/money. A one day paint mission will totally transform a space.

Do you have an entry table, mantel, a tabletop or even a tray? Now is the time to make a plan what you will need and decorate it for the Holiday’s. Something simple is always best:

Another dramatic uplifting change you can make is adding colorful area rug, (indoors and out!):

I just wanted to remind you that it is time to start those home design projects before the busy Holiday Season is upon us! Now is the time to check your closet for pretty place settings and plan a special way to lay out the table. This is kind of a public service announcement. You will thank me later.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Update For Spring Using Coral Accessories

March 19, 2015

Looking to freshen up your rooms this Spring? Still trending BIG this year is the color coral:

Coral is a beautiful color to refresh and lighten up any room. A color combination I am in love with now is coral, navy blue and mineral blue:

I also am loving coral and turquoise together:

Unlike last Spring, coral colored accessories now are easy to find and at great prices. New towels for the bath:

Pillows for the sofa and bed:

Or a throw for the living room or bedroom:

Wouldn’t that blanket above look beautiful folded at the end of your bed?

The picture above shows how well coral works with many other colors. Including browns:

And grays:

And of course all shades of blue:

Look how nice coral goes with green and blue:

Wouldn’t these chairs be fun and exciting in your kitchen or dining room:

Ballard Design even carries coral fabric at pretty good prices:

Or how about a beautiful, new rug for your entry or living room:

What do you think of the color coral? Do you agree that it is a great color to help bring Spring indoors this year? We certainly are deserving of a happy, bright color to bring in the warmth!
