Warm Holiday Wishes From My Home to Yours

December 22, 2017

Is everyone ready for the big day? I am pretty well all set, just waiting for the family to arrive!

My Christmas decorating is pretty simple again this year, just a few Holiday vignettes around the house which makes me happy:

I kind of went overboard on making snow jars because I was having so much fun with them:

I think I like taking the photos as much as I like the decorating.

I love arranging pretty little vignettes!:

Winter Scene with Apothecary Jar and Faux Snow

December 4, 2017

Something I started playing with last Christmas while decorating and really enjoyed was snow-filled apothecary jars and cloches:

I have always loved cute little miniature accessories so this project was right up my alley. Simple and festive!

You can see last years faux snow projects here.

It is literally a 5 minute project. For supplies you need faux snow (or salt or baking soda works too), an apothecary jar or cloche, a few mini trees, and mini sleigh or any other miniature figurine:

All you do is, cover the base of the jar/cloche with craft snow, add the mini trees and  figurine, and the sprinkle some more craft snow on your winter scene. Told you it was easy!

Here are a couple snow scenes I made this year:snowmanRead More

Lynn’s Window Decision and Decorating the Condo

December 7, 2016

If you are following along with my SIL Lynn’s family room makeover, the curtains are hung and they look wonderful:

To be hemmed of course. We had a few choices of panels narrowed down. You can see all of her options we looked at here. This is the window treatment fabric she choose:

December 20, 2015

Wow! Can you believe it is the first day of Winter tomorrow with Christmas just a few days away? How are you doing with your Holiday preparations?

My son Kyle has flown home for Christmas! I am so happy we will all be together. Most of my work is done and it is time to relax and enjoy. So sit back and relax with me a few minutes to look at some beautiful Christmas images I have come across this Holiday Season:

FTD Flower Christmas Tree

December 12, 2015

It’s official! I have named myself the craft queen of Christmas 2016!:

I am just enjoying myself putting these projects together!

So, FTD had written me asking if I would like to decorate a Christmas Tree with real flowers and take photos for their website. I had a choice of a few beautiful arrangement to chose from here. Of course the purple, FTD Joyful Bouquet by Vera Wang won my vote!:

At first I wondered how will the flowers stay alive?? Then I remembered these little floral tubes:

Okay! I will give it a try. I actually forgot to take a before photo of the tree when it was bare and naked. I remembered once I already started:

My beautiful bouquet to work with:

I added the flowers last. I think it came out beautiful!:

I think I could have kept adding and adding ornaments and flowers, but I wanted the white roses to stand out and be the star:

What do you think my decorating friends? Would you try this at home? I do suggest using a small tree because of the live flowers.

I want to thank Brett from FTD for allowing me to take part in this Christmas project! It was fun and allowed me to be more Christmas crafty!
