Before & After Photos of Kitchen Redesign

August 21, 2016

This project was one of my all-time favorite kitchen redesigns! It came out so beautifully and the homeowner is very happy! I gave you a sneak peek here of her before kitchen:

The cabinets are still in great shape so we worked with them. Our first major decision was to choose the granite countertops and backsplash that will work well with the cabinets:

These soft beige and gray colors work great with the oak cabinets and was an immense improvement updating the kitchen.

One of my favorite changes in the room was the new window treatments:

Beautiful!! After all of the neutral, hard surfaces are chosen, the next step is finding ways to bring softness into the room. Since window treatment are one of the most expensive accessories, we started looking at window options first. I often suggest using fabric Roman Shades in a kitchen to achieve a big splash of color. When working with a client online, I will suggest three to four different fabrics that I know will work well in the room. Depending on the client’s favorite choice, that is how I determine the colors we will use in the room. Marsha loves blue!

She used Ben Moore Grant Beige on the walls:

Doesn’t the wall color look nice with the cabinets?

I also love our area rug choice- it brings in a lot of color and depth to the kitchen:

This kitchen  is a wonderful example that proves that not all beautiful kitchens have to be designed in all white.  This is a new and stylish kitchen full of personality and cheerfulness!

Thank you so much for sending the After pictures Marsha. We all love before and after photos of a room. You did a great job decorating and taking photos. Thank you!

  1. I love that you kept the integrity of the kitchen in relation to the era of the house. Not everyone wants the same white kitchen. It is a refresh and very well done.

  2. I love this, Kelly! Great job – the fabric and rug are just what this kitchen needed to brighten and freshen it up 🙂

  3. Are the subway tiles glass? I’ve been looking at some lately and love the luminous quality, but hadn’t seen any in a kitchen yet. Thanks for before-and-after — makes such a big difference to see both — very nice!

  4. Love the fabric and window treatments, is is a designer fabric or available to all? Nice refresh that makes everything look new.

  5. Kelly,

You are very welcome for the photos! I love sharing my beautiful new kitchen with your readers!

Thanks again for your excellent suggestions and guidance thru the redo process! Could not have done this without you!
