My son Kyle has flown home for Christmas! I am so happy we will all be together. Most of my work is done and it is time to relax and enjoy. So sit back and relax with me a few minutes to look at some beautiful Christmas images I have come across this Holiday Season:

Decorating my Christmas Tree with Ribbons

December 7, 2015

I am so glad that I tried something new this year when decorating my Tree:

ribbon tree

I used pretty ribbon! I have always loved the soft look of ribbon on a Christmas Tree and thought it would be so difficult to make. I found a few ideas on Pinterest:

The steps and instructions I found here are great and very easy to follow. I could write all the steps down for you here, but Kerri did such a good job explaining everything, I thought I would just share for her.  I followed her instructions and here are my steps with photos:

Add the ribbon bundles before your ornaments:

Then you add your ornaments!:

So pretty and fun to make! Just makes me smile and do a happy dance every time I walk by! How are you doing with your decorating for Christmas? Look how pretty this photo came out that I took last night:

Brilliant Idea For Hanging Christmas Stockings

December 2, 2015

I came across this photo on Pinterest and thought what a great idea:

mantel

You only need two-three stocking holders, a curtain rod and your stockings. That’s it! A new, quick and easy way to hang stockings on the mantel.

I do not have a mantel here at the condo, but I used a similar ledge to show as an illustration:

stocking was hung

I only used two holders here for four stockings. I would put a third stocking holder in the middle if I had more stockings to hang:

I just slipped the little tab from the stockings onto the rod:

I would not put anything into the stockings while they are hung up. It would be too heavy for the holders.

Pretty brilliant idea, don’t you think? You can tell everyone you read it here first! :)

Plan It Out

November 14, 2015

I don’t want to talk about the Holiday Season too early, but…..

Looking ahead, wouldn’t it be fun to create something fabulous that makes you smile every time you walk in the room?

If you want to create a pretty and special Christmas tree or tabletop setting, a decorated mantel, bookshelf, etc. this Season, it is necessary to plan it out:

Those beautiful table settings you see in blogs and magazines? Definitely written down and planned out to the last napkin. Same with those gorgeous, original Christmas trees you see. All planned out.

And if I can figure out how to create something out of my normal craft boundaries- you can too! For instance, this year I decided to try something new and I am adding ribbon to my Christmas tree:

I saved the project here on my Christmas Pinterest board. I printed out the directions and wrote a list of what I will need. Now that I started to plan, I will have time to purchase my ribbon and not be rushing around at the last minute when I put up my tree.

Another project I have always wanted to do is making a Christmas boxwood tree:

I love them! Just so pretty and sweet.

I am going to try it! It will be fun however it turns out. Now I just have to plan it out…..

Have a great weekend everyone!
