Before and After Exterior Using Benjamin Moore Amherst Gray

April 30, 2017

I recently worked with an online client helping to select an exterior paint color for her home. She had decided she wanted a gray and had narrowed her choices down to Ben Moore Chelsea Gray, Amherst Gray and Kendall Charcoal. She sent me a photo where she had already painted samples:

I do love Chelsea Gray. The only problem I have with using this gray outdoors is if the home is in strong sunlight all day. The Chelsea Gray color can seem washed out at times.  My first choice of the three was the Amherst Gray HC-167. I love the depth of this color and that makes it different than the standard gray:

September 27, 2014

[pinterest]Looking for a front door paint color? One of my next home projects is painting our front door before it gets cold again. I want to find a color that will show off some personality!

See the door next to the garage? This is the door we use most often and consider as our front door. You will notice the home is taupe/beige color and I have to find a color that works well with it. I started putting a photo list together to show Mr. Kelly a few different options and thought I would share a few of my favorites:

Looking at all of the beautiful inspirational Fall photos here, here and here, I felt motivated to decorate my own porch:

I used the same wreath from last year I made here. In one photo, I saw a pretty white pumpkin with a black monogram. She had used a decal sticker for her pumpkin, which I could not find in large alphabet letters anywhere! But I like my ‘B’ I found:

Can you tell up close which is the real pumpkins and which are faux? Shhhhhh..Picking out the cornstalk was the best. Look, it still has corn on it!:

I might add an up light behind the cornstalk. That would look really nice at night!
