Blue & Beige Bedroom Consultation

January 28, 2016

I have been working online with a woman from Chicago on her bedroom redesign. She found me on Pinterest on my design boards here.  Her design plan is coming out so nice I just wanted to share. Her bedroom was already painted in Revere Pewter and she just needed a little help finding bedding, window treatments and a few accessories that would work well together with the Revere.

Online Color Consultation

September 16, 2015

I was recently contacted by a gentleman in Dallas, Texas. He wondered if I could help him choose colors for the first floor of his large open concept home:

bryan

He was great at giving me details:

* Our new home is predominately painted in warm neutral colors – brown, gold, cream.
* The current color of all trim (base/crown/doors/windows and Kitchen) is Huntington Beige.
* My goal is really to just update the colors in the home. While I like the existing colors – I would like to move away from the golds and browns and move towards a “newer” color pallet.
* Thus far, I have the intention of painting the formal dining room chelsea gray since it is a warmer gray.
* I would really like to focus on the living room, foyer, and kitchen – since they all connect with one another.
* The kitchen cabinets are also painted in Huntington Beige, but were glazed with what appears to be light brown.

So we have two major items to consider when choosing a paint color for this space which is the green undertones of the Huntington Beige trim and the stone fireplace.

bryn room

The first color I thought of was Grant Beige HC-83. It may be a little boring for a color, but it is just beautiful on the walls! Plus, it will work well with both the trim and the stone in fireplace:

Another color I suggested he sample is Sandyhook Gray HC-108. It would be a little more dramatic than the Grant Beige and just as gorgeous:

My thinking behind my choices are that they are both great ‘updated’ neutrals  and both get away from the golds and browns. The Grant Beige and the Sandyhook Gray also have the same undertones as the trim and the stone which will work perfect!

He also stated that he would like to paint the dining room with Chelsea Gray HC-168 which will also work well with either the Grant Beige or Sandyhook Gray.

Both colors can be used with greens, blues, turquoise, grays and many more in accessories and fabric.

He is now looking at my suggestions and going to sample both. I will let you know what he chooses. Hopefully I can ask him to send after photos! What do you think of these color selections?

I am getting on a plane again tomorrow for the next week. I am going to Chicago for my sister’s wedding and the whole family is going! So excited!

Have a great week everyone!

Nina’s Before & After Living Room

July 9, 2015

It took a little while for the custom window treatments to be made, but they were well worth the wait:

Aren’t they beautiful? The window treatments completed the room perfectly. Don’t you love that mirror over the fireplace?

I posted here a peek into Nina’s living room when we were working on it. Here was Nina’s living room when we began:

And now after:

We incorporated a few of her own furnishings in our plan such as the sofa, chair and table.

The bookshelves were all custom made to our specifications. They came out gorgeous and added so much to the room!

Beautiful Kitchen Transformation

January 1, 2015

Happy New Year everyone! I wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2015!

I wanted to share with you an online kitchen redesign I have been working on. I have been working with Jeff for a few months. He sent me photos and asked for ideas to update and refresh his kitchen without taking out the existing oak cabinets.

Since his oak cabinets are so bossy, we had to address them first and find the right paint color. I gave Jeff a few wall color options that would work well and he decided on Benjamin Moore Agave AF-420. This paint color works beautifully with oak cabinets:

I love how Agave looks with the white trim also:

After we selected the paint color, I helped him choose his new countertops and backsplash:

I love the artwork he choose for the room and it gave us our beautiful green and blue color palette:

Blue 5 (4)

I sent him ideas with photos and links to products I knew would work well. He would choose the items he liked best that fit his budget and style.

We picked out lighting, rugs and window treatments and other accessories. Here is the design board I put together for him:
